We’re back in New Orleans and finally back in rhythm. After nearly three weeks away, we’ve settled back into our routines, picked the pace back up, and started preparing our home for what’s next. But before we look ahead, we’ve got to share what just happened.

We flew out right before Christmas with all three kids and spent the first part of our trip in the Missouri countryside. We stayed with my mom, traded traffic for stillness, and soaked up the quiet. One of the most meaningful days of my life happened that week: I had the honor of baptizing my mom and stepdad. My mom, once a devout atheist, has encountered Jesus in the most profound way over the past few years. Her request for me to baptize her has changed everything for me. What a gift.

And as if that moment wasn’t big enough, our 5-year-old son Leon looked at me from the side of the hot tub and said, “Dad, I want to be baptized too.” We’ve been talking about salvation and faith for a while now. He’s been asking the big questions. We had a sense it was coming. But we didn’t expect it then. I baptized my mom, my stepdad, and my son, three generations in one afternoon.

We sat down to share the whole story and reflect on it all in our latest VLOG. It’s not footage from the baptisms, it’s us talking through what God did. You can also watch the baptisms over on Instagram.

After Missouri, we loaded up in an RV and spent a week and a half in Stillwater, Oklahoma with Naomi’s family. It was our first time back since we moved in February. We laughed a lot, ate too much, celebrated the New Year, and cherished every minute with family. I’ll be honest, I didn’t keep many rhythms during that stretch. But it was needed. It was sacred. It reminded me how far God has brought us.

Now we’re back. And we’re building.

Our home is being prepared, not just for comfort, but for calling. We believe our table will be a place where the Gospel is shared, faith is stirred, and the church is formed. Our Tuesday night Open House gatherings launch this month, and we are preparing every room, every rhythm, and every corner of our life to serve what God wants to do here in New Orleans.

Thanks for being in this with us.
Thanks for praying.
Thanks for caring.
We love you big time.
